Respected Lecturers

Ladies and gentlemen,

Dear friends,

Today I have the immense pleasure and honour to welcome you at the University of Mauritius. Allow me to congratulate you for your HSC results and for having secured a seat at the University.

As from today you will form part of the University of Mauritius, your place of study for the next 3 or 5 years. The University of Mauritius is reputed to form future graduates in different fields who contribute enormously to our country’s economy and social well-being.

I can say that you should feel proud of yourselves to be part of the University of Mauritius family. You are now stepping into the world of elite young adults of Mauritius.

Friends, University life is different from what you have experienced at secondary level. You will embark on a journey full of new adventures and challenges. University life is about hard work, determination and motivation.

However, at University you will also have the golden chance to enhance your personality, skills and aptitudes.

The Students’ Union is here to act as the voice of students and help them in whatever problems they face. We also organize several activities such as sports, recreational, leisure and academic, all aimed at giving you a livelier campus.

As the President of the Students’ Union, I can assure you that your adaptation at the University will be smooth and without constraints.

I will not be long since we have an afternoon session together where I will elaborate quite lengthily and in details about the different aspects of the University.

I seize this opportunity to wish you all the best at the University and that you be blessed with unlimited success.

With this I thank you very much for your attention.

President

Students’ Union
