Ms. Mreedula Mungra is currently working as the Chief Executive Officer of the Mauritius Renewable Energy Agency (MARENA) and is a Board Director at the Central Electricity Board. She holds a B.Eng with First Class Honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and a MSc in Systems Engineering and Engineering Management (Renewable Systems) from the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences, Germany. She is a Registered Professional Electrical Engineer of Mauritius (RPEM) and an Associate Member of the Energy Institute (AMEI). Prior to joining MARENA, she worked as Research Scientist at the Fraunhofer Application Center for Inorganic Phosphors Research in Soest, Germany. She also carried out research on the optimization of the baseline manufacturing processes of PERC solar cells at the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS), funded by A*STAR Singapore. Her recent research activities include optical modelling and enhancement of the characterization processes of experimental light structuring components in photovoltaic (PV) modules as well as novel PV devices, at the University of New South Wales, Australia in cooperation with SERIS. Her additional interests include the development of policies and regulatory framework for the advancement of the deployment of Renewable Energy projects and sustainability practices in Mauritius.
