The UoMIC will operate under the Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO) of the University of Mauritius (UoM)., The incubator employees would be staff of UoM. This would entail that UoM sees the incubator as an appropriate and logical extension of its current organization and mission. It is understood that UoMIC will be an integral part of UoM and the latter will continue to champion and, in fact, formalize its position as a pioneer of technology incubation in the region. A key benefit of the proposed structure is that it will provide the necessary resources (Human resources and others) to expedite the implementation phase of the incubator. Another positive aspect of this structure is that, as a public institution, UoM can tap into potential funding sources that appear most promising for incubator facility development.
