Dear Students,

It gives me great pleasure to extend a warm welcome to each of you as you begin your academic journey with us at the Faculty of Information, Communication and Digital Technologies for the academic year 2025/2026. Congratulations on securing your seat in one of the most dynamic and forward-looking Faculties of the University of Mauritius. You have earned your place through dedication, hard work, and determination and we are proud to have you join our academic family.

You are entering University at a pivotal moment in history, a time when the digital age is redefining how we live, work, learn, and connect. Technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, and Cloud Computing are no longer part of a distant future. They are transforming industries and societies around us. At our Faculty, we are committed to equipping you with not only the technical knowledge but also the critical thinking skills you need to thrive in this ever-evolving landscape.

However, technical competence alone is not enough. As digital citizens and future professionals, you carry the responsibility to use knowledge ethically and wisely. The digital world requires individuals who are not only innovative and curious but also respectful, responsible, and guided by strong moral values. Let integrity, respect, and accountability be the cornerstones of your academic and personal conduct.

Your well-being and holistic development are equally important. University life is not only about acquiring knowledge. It is also a journey of personal growth, self-discovery, and building lasting connections. Remember, you are not alone in this journey. Our team of dedicated lecturers, programme coordinators, support staff and head of departments are here to guide you, challenge you, and help you reach your full potential.

I encourage you to embrace opportunities, ask questions, explore new ideas, and most importantly, believe in your capacity to create positive change.

Once again, welcome to the Faculty of Information, Communication and Digital Technologies. We look forward to witnessing your growth and success in the years ahead.
