FREE DISTRIBUTION OF MOUSEPADS (03.12.2010)
In the context of the Eco-Campus Awareness Campaign 2010, the PR’s Office is distributing some mousepads to UoM Staff.
These mousepads were designed for the campaign “Your Office is your second home: Save Energy” by the Faculty of Engineering to trigger attention of staff at their workplace.
We would be grateful if your Faculty/Centre/Office could send someone to collect the mousepads at the PR’s Office. We wish to inform you that there being a limited quantity of mousepads, we rely on your discretion to distribute them among your staff.
Best regards

AT THE EDGE OF TECHNOLOGY (01.12.2010)
We are actually among the very few public institutions besides CEB, MT, IFS..... but definitely the First Tertiary Education Institution to have taken the initiative to convert solar energy into electric energy.
The installations are being set up actually.
It is expected that the energy thus generated would be used, to start with, in the labs of the of the FE buildings.
Other indirect benefits that also arise :our staff is getting first hand training by IBL and can further train others.
Students may carry out concrete research work.

We are pleased to inform you that following the Vice-Chancellor, Prof K Morgan’s request, the Public Relation`s Office is launching an ECO-Awareness Campaign on UOM Campus. The campaign will take place from 25 November 2010 to 3 December 2010.
Promoting an ECO-campus is a two-pronged exercise; one concerns an environmental management system and the other, an individual behavioural management.
This campaign is focusing on the second aspect, that is to bring change in staff and students’ behavior in order to stop wastage, improve energy efficiency and go greener.
It is designed to inform and support projects of academics, as well as to inspire eco-friendly practices amongst students and staff on campus.
Hence information would be sent to you daily during the campaign period to allow you to take stock of universities achievements’ with regards to measures already taken, in terms of saving or reconversion of energy supplies ,preventing wastage & Go greener efforts, as well as activities which are currently taking place on campus
We would welcome any individual measure taken at the level of your Faculty, Centre, Department, Office, with your students, Unions and Clubs to be included on our facts sheet.
