Founded in 1965, UoM has as core mission, the creation and dissemination of knowledge among the Mauritian citizens and the international community as a whole. Its vision is to be a leading international university, bridging knowledge across continents through excellence and intellectual creativity. Located in the peaceful area of Réduit, UoM has six faculties.

The main activity of UoM is to design, upgrade and deliver courses as required by the industry. Courses are delivered by the different faculties. Research is also central to the University's mission and vision. Research at the tertiary level stimulates knowledge creation, drives innovation, and forms the basis of a growing and vibrant society.
